MUA MISSION HOSPITAL

MUA MISSION HOSPITAL

Construction work to renovate the important HIV/TBC department began in January 2024. This department deals with the treatment of HIV/AIDS patients, the care of patients with various intestinal diseases, screening for cervical cancer and screening for tuberculosis.

The building was constructed many years ago. Over the years, the hospital has carried out routine maintenance work. Nevertheless, the building has fallen victim to the harsh weather conditions, especially during the rainy seasons, so extensive refurbishment is required to make it fit for health standards. The building is currently in a very poor condition. It needs to be repaired in the following areas: The roof is leaking and therefore needs to be replaced with new iron sheets, the walls need plastering and the rooms need to be extended. The sanitary facilities need to be thoroughly renovated, including the sewage system and plumbing work. Inside the treatment rooms, the doors and frames will be replaced with new ones. The electrical systems will be renewed in all rooms.

Thanks to the dedicated support and generous donation of André Sommerlatte and the Dr Heinz-Horst Deichmann Foundation, this elementary medical care department is being renovated in accordance with recognised health standards. The Marietta & Cäcilie Foundation says THANK YOU!
