Mua Mission Hospital

Last week I was in Hamburg with the dentist Dr. Ulrich Zibelius. Together we are planning to equip the dental department of the Mua Mission Hospital and set up a dental laboratory for plastic prosthetics. Our application to the Stiftung Hilfsfonds Deutscher Zahnärzte (German Dentists’ Relief Fund) for support for the project was approved, allowing us to order a new treatment chair and a compressor for the dental practice from the local dental dealer. The installation will take place in the next few days.

We are also keen to purchase all the equipment for the dental laboratory in Malawi.

In Hamburg, we received a collective donation of dental consumables and equipment worth around 35,000 euros from Dr. Andreas Sprafke (R-dental). We then visited the dental laboratory of dental technicians Johanna Kluxen and Axel Freund in Volksdorf. They will accompany us on our medical mission from September 23 to October 20, 2024 and set up and activate the dental laboratory. This will create 2-3 training places for dental technicians and an important source of income for the hospital.
